More Money For Affordable & Social Housing?

Wednesday’s announcement that an additional £2billion in funds is going to be made available to build more social and affordable housing made great headline news for our industry in general. There is a renowned national shortfall in housing, particularly in the level of affordable homes available to rent or buy. Social rent is genuinely more affordable for those on a lower income, but the rapid fall in houses being built or acquired for social rent has meant the total number of extra homes categorised as "affordable" has been on a downward trend. A Conservatory Like No Other

Over several decades, the conservatory has been a welcome addition to many homes across the UK by adding value, extra space, often without planning constraint hassles. While traditional conservatory design ticks the box when it comes to creating extra space, they are often too hot, too cold or too noisy. By upgrading the standard glass or polycarbonate roof with a solid roof, your conservatory instantly transforms from a part time sun-room into the desirable, soundproof extra ground floor living space that you can use all year round.

A solid roof means the extra space can be integrated into the home and utilised every day regardless of temperature or weather. No longer seen as a compromise,.

On Saturday 26th August, the GM Fundraising Paddle2Pedal team arrived at Hope House Children’s Hospices to complete their challenge, which saw them canoe 100 miles, abseil 150ft, cycle 120 miles and raise over £90,000 for the hospices so far. Profix Group MD Alan Sadler supported the team and comments: “What an event! This was the first all-female challenge GM Fundraising has ever organised and the 12-strong team certainly gave the boys a run for their money, myself included. Having been involved with these events for the past 12 years, you develop certain expectations of an inaugural event but the girls smashed it in every way. Each and every one worked really hard but also enjoyed themselves,.

Paddle2Pedal Update from Alan Sadler

The GM Fundraising Paddle2Pedal team are part way through their challenge, having completed the “paddle” section which saw them canoe 100 miles down the River Wye from Glasbury to Chepstow. Alan Sadler, Profix Group’s MD is supporting the challenge. “It has been an absolute honour supporting this team of ladies take part in this truly tough challenge,” says Alan. “It has been a pleasure to see the team growing together and supporting each other 100%. Even though there have been some tough days on the river they have never lost sight of the reason why they.
